A Morning in the Heart of the Rainforest — Private Day Tour
Welcome!
Some mornings in Costa Rica stay with you forever. This is one of them.
Bijagua sits in one of the most biodiverse corridors in the country, nestled between two volcanoes, drenched in cloud forest, and home to some of the most unhurried wildlife you'll ever encounter.
This morning tour was designed for travelers who want to go deeper than the postcard — tasting the land, meeting its animals, and understanding why this corner of Costa Rica is unlike anywhere else.
Your After Dark guide picks you up directly from your accommodation. No shuttle. No strangers. No guesswork.
Pickup: 9:00 AM from Río Celeste Hideaway area
Return: Approx. 12:30 PM — free afternoon yours to enjoy
9:00 AM — Private pickup from your accommodation
~9:30 AM — Arrival at local chocolate & coffee farm
9:30–10:30 AM — Chocolate & Coffee Experience From cacao pod to finished chocolate — you'll see, smell, taste, and understand the full process. Same with Costa Rican coffee: how it's grown, harvested, and prepared the traditional way. Tastings included. This is not a commercial plantation — it's a working local farm.
10:30–11:30 AM — Sloth Encounter at Private Local Farm A private farm in the Bijagua corridor where two-toed and three-toed sloths live freely in the trees — not caged, not handled, not staged. Your bilingual guide will spot them for you and explain their behavior, habitat, and why this region is one of the best places in Costa Rica to see them in the wild.
